Project Description
 Scope of works:
Supplying & installing the mechanical and electrical equipment
for the waste water treatment plant of Homs
Process: Conventional
Activated Sludge
Average flow:
135.000 m3/day

Contractor:
SEE/I Kruger Engineering with Electro Scientific Office ( ESO )
Value: approx. 14 Million US$ plus
30 Million Syrian Pounds for relative local works. |

Civil Works: By a separate contract under
the supervision of CEC engineers .
Contractor: The General Company for Irrigation and Drinking
Water project /Rima/
Value: approx. 200 Million Syrian Pounds
The project consists of 3 phases
1 - Phase A: Supply and erection of the mechanical &
electrical equipment :
Works have completed by mid December 1998
Works have been taken over in March 2000
The Performance Bond has been released after the defect reliability
period
Retention of 10% also has been released without any deduction

2 - Phase B: Operation
& Maintenance period ( man/month basis ):
Operation & Maintenance
works have been performed by CEC staff and the support of SEE/I Kruger
.
The works have been
taken over in June 2000 .
3 - Phase C: Technical
Assistance period ( man/month basis ):
Training works and Technical Assistance were performed professionally
by CEC engineers for a period of 18 man/month. These works included
the following:
Training on
the electrical & mechanical equipment
Training on
the operation of the complete plant.
Training on
the maintenance of each facility of the plant.
Training on
security and industrial safety. |

Works have been completed in June 2001
The project was implemented successfully by SEE/I Kruger for which ESO
was the sub-contractor for all relative local works, such as : erection
of the mechanical & electrical equipment, testing & commissioning,
operation & maintenance, technical assistance & training and
supply of chemicals.
The SEE/I Kruger has had a very good reputation in the Syrian territories
as a very competent contractor for water and environmental projects
especially after issuing the final taking over certificate.
Thanks to the skillful and serious follow-up performed by our staff
in all aspects (technical, administration, and financial ). The contract
was completely executed with all its requirements and met the satisfaction
and acceptance of the concerned authorities.
